What a terrific thread--so many bands I haven't thought about for years! And a huge THANK YOU to see u at x for the acoustic version of Something About You. It's so cool to hear the layers of harmonies that you don't fully appreciate in the album version!
You're very welcome! I first heard it on 94.7 during the Sunday morning Acoustic Sunrise program from 8-11. They play some really cool stuff! Also, I have to confess that the original video for that song always freaked me out because Mark King was dressed up as that creepy clown magician character and I really hate clowns.

Loved the Hooter. Yes, I am from sorta near Philly.
Peter Gabriel. Sledgehammer was my favorite.
Cindi Lauper was fun.
Bangles- Walk Like an Egyptian
John Cougar (Mellencamp)
Kool & the Gang
Styx - Still love Mr Roboto
80's music that is more the pop than the rock makes great work-out music. It tends to be very lively and upbeat. Oh, Mickey comes to mind.

Ha! My brother and I have a game we play called "One Arm or Two?" When a DL song comes on, you have to say "one" or "two" to denote the era.
I've never had trouble with one or two arms. I noted a huge and obvious. at least to me, change in drum sound between Pyromania and Hysteria and with snippets of news as they were then, finally put together the whole scenario. The whole story is rather fascinating in that Allen came back to drumming after the loss of the arm and the struggles he had learning to replace his left arm with pedals operated by his left foot. He is the only one armed drummer in the world and the last two sets he's used are of his own design.

I stumbled across Allison Moyet (Yaz) on Twitter recently and that unleashed a weeks-long 80's binge. Frantic downloading from ITunes, and recreating my favorite mix tapes of the day. New Order. A-Ha. Alphaville. naked Eyes. Love and Rockets. An on and on and on. Love.
Don't wrassle with a hog. You just get dirty, and the hog likes it.
How about Berlin-saw them in concert at UF and when they did their encore song "Sex" well lets just say there were probably a lot of people who needed to be hosed down LOL.
Also Missing Persons when the lead singer wore fish bowls as a top-that was interesting(or at least my date and every other man in the audience suddenly began gravitating to the stage thought so) Do you think that was the precursor to the Red Hot Chili Peppers wearing nothing but socks on their manhood when performing a show?
Finally Frankie Goes To Hollywood- who had the t-shirt that said-"Frankie Says Relax" or my personal favorite-"Who Gives a F--- What Frankie Say"? Did see them in concert and was disappointed to learn the whole thing was lip-synced-but boy there was some great people watching at that show!
