*head desk* I have a feeling Tony might be tired of being called a mare . Cute horse though

We don't know she's not a mare. If it was Toni instead, would you have posted this?

The ad does say "has been cut". That usually means gelding. Pic doesn't show.

I think it's supposed to be a surprise. I can see something, but with a horse that fat it could be a small sheath or the front of the udder.

my guess is that they think you have mares and stallions and if it's not a stallion anymore it must be a mare? if that's the case I'm giggling, he/it looks like a cutie

Either that or Tony is a hermaphroditic horse. "Come one, come all, and see the incredible gelded mare!"

I don't think it is up to us to judge transgendered horses. Perhaps Tony was stallion born but identifies as a mare?

When I first read this, before reading the comments, I read "has been cut" to mean they tried the horse for cutting, especially coming right after the riding experience.

The other option is definitely a possibility though.

Of he could not think of the word gelding and that is the best he could do to describe it's sex, but confused us more?

Perhaps he meant 'male' instead of 'mare'. At any rate, s/he's cute.

Poor transgendered Tony/Toni -s/he is cute!

I sometimes think of my barely-15h OTTB gelding as slightly effeminate and a lady-boy - is that wrong?

    That makes the most sense.

    But what a cute horse!

    Whovian! I found a Whovian!
If i smell like peppermint, I gave my horse treats.
If I smell like shampoo, I gave my horse a bath.
If I smell like manure, I tripped.

I think Tony is a mare who cut her leg on the fence, or something similar.

Given the general language/grammar in the post, if Tony is a mare, my guess is "has been cut" actually means "has been used for cutting."

I agree. The horse looks nice abet chubby.

A few years ago, someone on Coth was giving away an hermaphrodite TB with good breeding, since the breeder did not want to put the horse down. I don't think the CL horse is one, probably just a typo.

When I was a kid, I named some of my cats names that could have been confusing and probably caused some fights with neighborhood cats.
