    Default American Food

I've been wondering what prepared foods probably were created in America.

So far I've been able to come up with fudge and butter cake (birthday type cake) and soft bread.

Are these uniquely American (North American)? Can y'all come up with some other dishes that were not originally imported from Africa or Europe or Asia or have no analogues from those places?

Maize! Anything made with corn. Popcorn, corn tortillas, cornbread, all are from the Americas.

Buffalo wings! But that's more a preparation, obviously people ate chicken wings long before buffalo sauce.

Saskatoon berry pie although it isn't a prepared food but an actual recipe developed for the berry which only grows wild in North America
Bison - roasted, fried, stewed.......all good

Forgot flapper pie - a western Canadian delight and of course, Boston cream pie

The Eskimo Pie was created in Youngstown Ohio. Hershey candy, and I know Mars was headquartered here, but ships all over the world. Jack Lynch jerky (I think it's U.S).

Foods invented at the Chicago World's Fair: Hershey's chocolate, Cream of Wheat, Cracker Jacks, Aunt Jemima pancake mix, Juicy Fruit Gum. Also, anything made of corn, maple syrup, and tomatoes (Tomatoes were thought to be poisonous when first discovered by Europeans.)
