interesting article,thanks for sharing MOUSE&BAY! i don't think we are dealing with an infection here,my farrier would have noticed but i'll make sure and bring it up next time he comes.
For the record, my farrier didn't notice the infection either until it blew up in our faces. The horse just had chronic "bad" feet. Chipping, crumbly, wouldn't hold a shoe. I had owned him for well over a year, using the same farrier. I moved him from a place with lousy pasture to a place with good grass and that's when the infection went from sub-clinical to full blown WLD.
To treat him cost me a Saturday afternoon and less than $100.00. Worth every penny.
