Default If bad things come in threes...

I'm going to be dead tomorrow.

Yesterday, I hit the electric fence with my face.

Today, a horse on crossties broke her halter, which slingshotted into my face.

Tomorrow? I'm thinking I should just hide in the house and avoid horses!

Oh, now, you know perfectly well that if you do that, you'll manage to hurt yourself some other way, like falling down the stairs or something... At least that's the way it goes for me!

Perhaps you should acquire a hockey goalie's face mask before tomorrow.

Suit of armor? Oh dear heaven, no! Can you imagine hitting the electric fence wearing a suit of armor?!?!?

I made it through morning chores in one piece, but the previous two incidents were in the evening, so I'm not ready to relax yet. I will say this, though: I will NOT be riding my horse tonight! (He's been off for 2 weeks with an abscess and is FINALLY ok to ride.)

Empathetic OUCH'es on the sling-shotted halter to the face deal. I was there a few months ago. Wound up getting 3 stitches in the eyebrow that would NOT stop bleeding. It was lovely.

I survived, although I did end Tuesday pretty sick with a bad cold... still dealing with it, but better that than some catastrophic horse accident!

Suggestion - don't look really, really closely at your horse's pastern. I already did that today.

I must have gotten your bad luck.

    1) I ran over my dog - Well I rolled over my dog. He is 18 years old and was laying in front of the car, I didn't know he was in front of the car and the kids were fighting causing a distraction or else I usually look for him. I pulled forward out of the carport and heard a small squealing sound. My Oldest got out and said I ran over the dog. Panic ensues, the youngest bursts into tears, the oldest and I jack up the car and the dog climbs out and wanders off. After a quick vet check today he is just fine. He is not injured except for a swollen nose. I ran over my dogs nose! The clearance under my car is high enough I didn't hit him, just squished his nose. Poor guy is ok.

    2) The rearview mirror on my truck fell off while I was coming up the hill..

    3) My side mirror on my car got sideswiped by the electric pole when I got a little too close.

-sigh- It has to get better right??

Yikes, glad to hear your dog is ok. How scary! Yes, bad things come in threes... three dozens as far as I can tell. Resistance is futile, etc, ad nauseum.

He is doing great. 100% his old self. Nothing seems to slow him down.
