Cool Posting for a friend--fellow eventer needs our help and support!

I know it's not the normal thing, but what if every COTH eventing person were to cough up a buck for this young lady? Going to cough up a few of mine. Thanks for looking.

Don't mean to sound like a "doubting-COTHer", but do you know the people involved? I will happily send some duckies their way if I know FOR SURE it's on the up and up.

Sorry, just tired of getting shammed.

What a small world! She's a graduate of my nerdy magnet high school. I threw the campaign a few bucks. Thanks for posting, deltawave.

Folks, even if you can't spare the dollars, sharing this with your social networks (Facebook, Twitter, email lists, posting it on your boarding barn's bulletin board, etc.) can be very powerful. I'm off to post this on Facebook.

It's legit. From someone I trust.

Thanks to anyone who can spare a few bucks, or a few jingles.

Default This is real..what if it was you or someone you love?

I used to not know the biggest crap in life can really happen to me...just me...and for some reason, when all the pinpoints were set in motion for tragedy, one hair's width spared me. Help this young woman if you can...it's the right thing to do.

She is my friend and boards at the barn I keep my horse at. Incredibly hard working and so nice to everyone, always willing to pitch and help. It's awful what happened and every little bit helps! Every penny raised will go directly towards her horse's care.

I think this is fabulous, but I'm hoping someone will bump this up after payday on the 25th.

If someone can email me at info@horsejunkiesunited.com (with real names) just to confirm the source, I'll share it on HJU.

    I am her trainer.

Along with help from another of my students (a friend, who boards with her) I started this site in order to try to help her out with horse expenses. I'm caring for her horse with these donations so that she doesn't have to worry about her dear mare in addition to recovering from her horrific injuries; she was transferred into Rehab on Friday, so is at least "stable"--but this is going to be a long, long haul.

She and her mom are very grateful to be able to take this concern off her plate, and we are profoundly appreciative for all the support she has received so far. Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart!

This is a lovely, kind, hard-working, decent and wonderful young woman (only 22, working her way through college AND working F/T to support her horse), she has toiled for everything she has (is the *opposite* of an "entitled young person", her parents are from Russia, so perhaps that's why , and my heart breaks for her. This was finally going to be "her year", since she just traded in her car for a small pickup, bought a crummy old trailer and fixed it up (with the help of her friends) so that it would be inspectable and roadworthy. She just hauled herself to her first show 3 weeks ago. She got her mare for free (after she failed a PPE and no one wanted her), and nursed her back to soundness. She has been patient and tireless.

patricia; I will send you names in a moment (dw just alerted me to this thread!) Thanks again, all of you!!

My e-mail address is: leedigangi@verizon.net, and this means that I just officially "outed myself" on COTH for the first time

Delta wave - thank you for sharing, she sounds like a lovely hardworking lady and I hope she mends quickly. I know that having her horse taken care of will help her spirit and allow her to focus on her recover. Wishing her all of the very best!!

I sent some $$ along. I know what it's like to have a family member have a horrible accident. Not having to worry about caring for her horse will be one less thing on her family's mind.

Yes, horsejunkies (Patricia) VERY kindly and generously put an article together based on the information I shared with her about Talia and her background (and explaining what happened to her); she has my deep gratitude
