Default How often do you body clip your gray horse? Or any horse for that matter?

I have my gray scheduled for another full body clip tomorrow, never had a gray, so never had to deal with the stains, and this horse is a pig. All of my other horses (bays and chestnuts were easy) didn't get clipped but in the winter. Anyone else clip their horses this time of year?

I was just thinking about clipping my grey soon. In the past I have only clipped during the winter maybe 2-3 times. But alas mine new boy is a huge pig and loves to sleep in his pee.

I have had 2 gray horses and only body clip in the winter.
No troubles keeping him clean! (no matter how dirty he would prefer to be)

Of course he's only clean for shows/special occasions/ right after bathing. Haha.

My friend has a bay Fresian cross. The horse grows hair like a yak. She has a problem with anhydrosis and over heating. She got body clipped the beginning of March, and we had to reclip her the middle of May. I'm thinking we will reclip her again in July from the looks of how much the hair has grown in.

Well, I am on the second clip of the season for the donkey, and he's a grey dun Does that count?

And I clip when they need, weather and workload dependent.

He is gorgeous, but I want to see the other side. Sport always looks good on one side and then turns around and you see where all the work is needed.

i have a gray spotted saddle horse. i body clip him in the winter but not in the summer. he can be a pig too, but since i started him on chia seeds and smartomega (from smartpak) his coat is nice and oily and shiny so stains don't stick around. i don't plan on clipping him until the fall again.

here is a pic from today:
