Default Shameless brag - 1st show in 12+ years

Finally got back into riding about a year and a half ago and it's been a long, LONG process overcoming some serious fear/confidence issues. I swore I'd never jump again, but with the help of an awesome trainer with a talent for working with re-riders (shout out: Ryan Miller in Phoenix, AZ!) I made it to my first show in over 12 years. It went great! It was a local show up in Flagstaff. We did the Adult Medal, which we won all 3 days, plus the Regular Child/AA Hunters and Eq. The first day we were reserve in hunters and champion in Eq, the second day we were champion in hunters and reserve in Eq and the 3rd day we were just plain tired.

October will be the beginning of a heavy schedule of rated shows, so I plan to do another local or two before then to tune up. Still have a long way to go, but I never thought I'd even sit on a horse again, much less kick butt at a show.

Congrats! Please pass some of that confidence my direction! 8 years off riding and 10 from jumping. I'm having a hard time getting passed 2 ft!

Congratulations! You're an inspiration to the rest of us who are re-riders; in my case, OLD; and terrified.

That is wonderful, and you guys look AWESOME!

An inspiration to anyone that has a riding goal, too.
It can be done, and done with style!

Congratulations!! Looking at the pictures of you and hearing your success makes me more hopeful for getting back to the level I want to be at! I just started riding again after ~5 year hiatus, having ridden for 9 years, and I'm still getting frustrated with myself after 6 months of lessons for still struggling with my seat/leg position.

You and your horse look like a gorgeous pair! He has such a nice jump and an adorable expression over the fence

You look fantastic, very inspiring for the first show back! Also, golly, one or two of those oxers look big for the adults (I've got my weenie glasses on!) GOOD FOR YOU!
