I don't usually post this type of thing (and am not a huge racing fan) but this gave me goosebumps and I had to hold back tears.

Brings tears to me, too. I'll never forget watching this race in the TV department at Sears, being surrounded by it on all those TV's because I didn't own one. I cry at the beauty of that horse and the miracle of the way he was built and moved. And then there was poor Sham, who tried so hard . It does remind a little of John Henry vs. the machine (the man, not the horse, who's a whole 'nuther story!)

    Thanks for posting.

My nonhorsey husband's favorite video bar none. If you can watch this video without a racing heart and tears, you aren't human

I watched this as a barnrat sitting on a schoolhorse peering at a tiny black and white TV in the barn aisle It still takes my breath away and brings joyous tears.

HE'S MOVING LIKE A TREMENDOUS MACHINE!!!!

Impossible to watch that and not get a big ol' lump in the throat.

It makes me choked up and I wasn't even born yet. I hope that I will get to see a horse of his caliber in my lifetime.

Sham was a hell of a racehorse. Any other year he could have conceivably won the triple crown. He just had the misfortune of being born the same year as the greatest horse ever.
