Default EPPS Biting Fly Trap or Horse Pal?

Has anybody tried either of these for deer and horse flies?

I'd love to know too as I'm looking at them both - the deer and horse flies are horrible!! We may make our own backyard version though as both are so pricey.

Oh thanks for the reminder, I need to set my Horse Pals out.

I love the Horse Pal traps.
You can move them around which helps when you're mowing grass. And, if you're not catching many biting flies in one spot, you can move the trap 5-10 feet in any direction and be back in business.
Also, there's no stinky, dead-fly-water to empty. With the Horse Pal you've only got a jar of dried-up flies to dump.
They are pricey, but worth the investment to use year after year.

    Default Horse Pal

Worked as advertised. I should have stored it inside when not in use as the canvas has rotted...time for duct tape.

We bought the Horse Pal last week and it's been working! It's also been catching a lot of little biting flies so that's been an unexpected bonus. Not sure if I have it in the best area though. It seems to catch all that's directly around it but so far, there are still swarms of deer flies less than an acre away. We put it where the horses loiter and that area seems to be clear now. But then when they move away, they are swarmed. Maybe we need more than one?
