The really difficult thing about horses - as with many of the beloved animals we are fortunate to share our lives with - is that their lifespans are typically so much shorter than ours.

A wise friend once noted, when I faced that difficult reality, that despite the difference in our time on earth, the love we share with the animals we cherish cannot be measured by the simple space of time spent together.

"It is big enough," she said, "to fill in the whole gap until we see them again."

May the love you shared with your heart horse fill that empty space in your soul, til you see them again at the Bridge.

    Hugs.

So sorry. Sending you healing energy. Be kind to yourself over the next short while, and give yourself permission to feel whatever you need to feel. Let the hole in your heart gradually fill up with all the special memories you'll keep forever.

    Hugs

I am so, so sorry. I have not experienced this, and I cannot imagine your grief.
I hope that your memories comfort you, and that when you are ready you will share with us your favorite stories about your beloved horse. Many hugs to you.

Not sure how you feel about these things, but I saw some jewelry made from tail hair that was channel set into a ring or bracelet I believe. It was beautiful.

Thinking of you and so sorry about your loss! *hugs*

    Don't Cry For The Horses

Don't cry for the horses that life has set free.
A million white horses, forever to be.
Don't cry for the horses now in God's hands.
As they dance and prance to a heavenly band.

They were ours as a gift, but never to keep
As they close their eyes, forever to sleep.
Their spirits unbound, forever to fly.
A million white horses, against the blue sky.

Look up into Heaven. You will see them above.
The horse we lost, the horse we loved.
Manes and tails flying, they gallop through time.
They were never yours, they were never mine.

Don't cry for the horses, they will be back someday.
When our time has come, they will show us the way.
Do you hear that soft nicker close to your ear?
Don't cry for the horses, love the ones that are here.

It's a sad price we pay for the joy they give us. I'm so sorry.
