Default Interesting Craigslist Horse with sire Hawaii in pedigree

NOT my horse nor do I have any connections.
Saw this ad on the Lexington, KY Craigslist

    I think he'd make a cute gelding.

Well of course, because you know, it is so hard to find a stallion with Mr. Prospector and Native Dancer in his pedigree.

On the positive side, at least the seller is unloading before the horse gets any thinner. If he is as well behaved, pleasant to ride, and sound as advertised he could be a good deal for someone. He is a very nice looking horse, I think.

    Craigslist ad says:
    6 yr old TB,...need to sell - $800 (nky)

got this guy with intentions of breeding him, i have another stallion too and it just isnt working out having 2. he is broke to ride, handles well, loads, ties, good with feet, stands for mounting. He is sound. He has really nice movement. Possible polo prospect, eventing. good confirmation, stands between 15.1 & 15.3 hh. son of Northern fleet, has Mr. Prospector and Native Dancer! EXCELLENT BLOODLINE....This guy got overlooked. Papers in hand. MUST SELL!!! NEED HAY!! if interested call or text 606_748_9486

It's hard to find stallions in the 15.1-2 hand range, too. Can't imagine why.... I think there was something I heard about once called Supply and Demand....?

I saw him too while browsing CL and the Hawaii bloodline caught my eye. I was debating posting him here since he has his jewels and I figured the ad would get some negative commentary .

Anyway, I think he's got a great engine to get him around a cross country course. He'd also look better with work/correct muscling, and he'd make a great gelding.

I'd take a chance if I were in the market. Bet they'd let him go pretty cheap.

My daughter says she is sick of hearing me say this, but if you are going to go to the trouble of taking a picture, why not at least try to put the horse in a position that might flatter him?

And only been 4 years since he did anything.......

Oh yes let's run and snap up the half starved guy and pay you for starving what was surely once a freebie. Nice.

I didn't think he looked starved at all. I think he looks like a young stallion coming into spring with mares nearby. Yes, he needs weight but he isn't starving at this point.

I think he is really cute. If I weren't on a no.more.horses moratorium, I'd definitely take a look (and geld him immediately).

And at least the owner made an ATTEMPT to take good pictures. C'mon guys, good intentions, blah blah blah, but aside from one crappy pic, you can tell the owner is trying to show different angles.

Oh boy. Dibs? Yeah, dibs. Gah. Very impressed with his dam's line. Vice Regent and Hawaii in there... cross-country machine.

If someone can find a stallion or mare for me with Ward Eight in the pedigree, I'll uncall dibs.

Very cute with an ass that doesn't quit. Someone needs to get him! He just needs a little brain surgery and he'll be good to go!

    Here's his pedigree.

Although in the Hawaii world, this guy would probably be next on my list http://www.dreamhorse.com/show_horse...rse_id=1861217

I look at this guy and I don't see anything not to like. Some of the comments on this thread don't make sense to me but maybe I just don't know very much or have a good eye for a horse.

Of course he doesn't need to be a stallion, and I'm not a fan of those bloodlines for breeding (although Silver Deputy was a very attractive ND type), but this horse looks like a decent type to me. If he's 15.2hh, that's perfectly fine for most women and for most riders of reasonable balance and skill.

His weight/condition is also fine for a horse that's not in work. His coat has some shine to it and his mane and tail are thriving.

The fact that he's still intact and can stand tied like that around all that junk and other horses speaks to him having a good brain.

I think he's a nice one. I hope he finds a good home.

But again, maybe I have no eye for a horse.
