Horse ownership can bring such joy and heartache into our lives.
Last Thursday, I got a call from my BO who told me that Tess had stopped drinking water and had not peed all day. By the time that I got down to the barn, Tess had produced a dark yellow, foul smelling pee. I called the Vet, who came out and tubed her with oil. She put in a port, so that we could give her 2 huge bags of fluids. She left two more bags for Friday. We started giving her small amounts of wet hay after noon on Friday. Saturday and Sunday were close to normal.
I got a call this morning. Instead of the usual 4-6 buckets of manure and wet spots that are removed every day, Tess only had half of a bucket full. My DH hooked up the trailer and we took Tess down to Rood and Riddle. She is now in the hands of Dr. Brett Woodie, who is one of the best.
Please jingle and/or pray for Dr. Woodie to find out what is wrong with Tess?
The really odd thing is that she is very hungry, but not peeing or pooping much. Her vitals are good, except for a low white blood cell count.
I believe in the power of COTH. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
