Wink Hmmm, I wonder how he got hurt??

My lesson yesterday was canceled because Rory has a swollen fetlock, so I've been buting and cold hosing... My trainer and I and then DH and I discussed different ways he could have done whatever it was he did. My guess was Odie stepped on Rory while Rory was laying down, just to be a turd .

After cold hosing this morning, I put Rory back in his run with Odie since we were early enough that no one had been fed yet.

Gee. I wonder how Rory got hurt??

Watch about a minute into it...sheesh, stupid horse.

Your ass is being an ass!! They are too cute together. Although it's all fun and games until the riding horse gets hurt.

Aww! Too cute! So sorry though to hear that the fun and games went a bit far. But the "oh wait, there's a human--we better behave" thing is pretty damn adorable.

I do not think this is a case of stupid horse, but more likely ill-advised action by humans having them together in such a small enclosure. It did not look to me like fun play but that little donkey was seriously annoying the horse.

That Jack thinks he's a Jack Russell--nobody ever told him he's a little guy!

('Osses will be 'osses. I've got two 26-year olds that play just like this).

I have oodles of video of them doing this...

That stupid comment was tongue-in-cheek, sorry you missed that . These two play like this whether in a pen or in a huge field. They are known for it on the board. I've never caught the squishing thing on camera before though!

Sorry that Rory is having an issue, but that's a darn cute video of the two of them.

I love how Odie is just like "awr-rawr, I'm going to EAT you" even though he's so tiny!
    Too cute.

Although someone should inform Mr. Full Size Horse that squashing is cheating!

C'mon Mom... At least leave some halters on so they have something to grab onto.

LOLOL! My older mini would instigate with his Morgan buddy like this. They'd do the full body slam thing (I'd cringe, but Remy was very careful with him). I bet Remy'd have loved to figure out the squishing thing!

Snort and his Shetland did that when he was at the trainer's. Snort is too creaky to do the wrestling moves but that leaping in the air move that Odie does, I've seen it before. Snort pins his ears and chases after him, then he turns around and jumps up and this is in a big pasture - they have plenty of room to get away. Snort and Crackerjack ply halter tag over the pen rails, and then I have to try to find the halter .

Your horse looks very much like mine. Just moved, but up until recently, he was in with a mini, and the 2 played very much like this. He had a blast. Would hurt himself more being bored on his own, or nudging other horses to play, who would eventually put him in his place. The mini would just assert himself, but they really were a pair - Laurel & Hardy, very much like your two.

That is exactly what it looks like when my weimaraner and our foster min pin puppy play together. Too funny!
(A decidedly unhorsey) MrB knocks over a feed bucket at the tack shop and mutters, "Oh crap. I failed the stadium jumping phase."
