    Default Amateur Status Reinstatement

I went pro in 2009 when I took over teaching at a barn in NC. I taught there through 2011 until I moved to CO and continued to teach a few lessons freelancing through summer of 2012. I was USEF registered as a pro in 2012.

My life has since changed direction and I haven't taught in almost 1 year. I also don't plan on teaching going forward. IIRC it takes 2 (or 3?) years of not teaching to have your ammy status reinstated. What kind of documentation (if any) do I need? Should I register with USEF this year even though I have no intention of showing just to get the ball rolling?

Any advice or stories would be helpful. Thanks!!

Ah thank you! For some reason I couldn't seem to find that.

Is there anyway around the notarized letter from fellow members? I've been boarding at small local barns here who don't show USEF. I'm not 100% sure, but I would guess that they're probably not members. Since I'm still new to the area nobody around here really knows who I am.

This may require a call to USEF. I had a membership info screw up this year - my birthday was not listed as my actual birthday and I had never noticed it! I also had two memberships somehow. The woman I dealt with was very knowledgeable. However, the USEF hours are wonky.

I'm still a few months away from being able to reinstate anyway but I want to get my ducks in a row ahead of time. I'll give them a call and see what's up
