Default WE DID IT! Four years after coming to the dark side - our first HT!

My cheeks hurt from smiling so much. My 4yo FLF OTTB and I competed in our first HT (for both of us)! It was the Genesee Valley Pony Club Spring Event at Wheeler Green, and it was

    SO

    MUCH

    FUN!

We showed up to dressage without a coat or stock tie, in my skull cap, and bell boots. ..oops. Quickly removed the bell boots, grabbed a friend's coat, and tied the stock to somehow magically cover my black polo. We looked absurd. BUT, had a much more relaxed test than a few weeks ago at a CT, so I was thrilled! So thrilled and a bit overwhelmed at the end that I gave a ridiculous, from-the-helmet, salute. Yep. My trainer's husband couldn't stop laughing... I would have made many a DQ cry.

XC was amazing. Got through clean and the big, stupid smile never left my face. Stadium - one rail, fine on time, a somewhat bumpy, but got-it-done type of ride. We finished 5th.

Even though it was CLEARLY amateur hour, I am so happy with how we did, and CAN'T WAIT for GVH in July! And, I will definitely be better prepared! It will help to not be at a wedding the night before.

    Dressage (don't laugh!)
    Waiting at the start box
    Exuberant effort over fence 3
    Looking for the last fence

Totally awesome!! The dressage picture looks fine, and I love the stadium, because of the expression on your face and your horse's.

    Major congrats!!!

    Great job!

I really love the huge smile on your face over the stadium fence. This is what eventing should be about.

You guys look great! And you stole my horse--they look exactly alike (especially in the dressage pic and the one where he is overjumping) except mine only has white on one back foot.
