Default Netflix Suggestions & Other Boredom Busters

I few months ago I went from not having enough time to having too much time. I finally feel like I'm adjusting and finding my rhythm. I force myself to wake up at a normal hour and read or work out every day.

However, we still find ourselves watching a ton of movies/tv shows online. Hulu and other companies don't work here, but Netflix does.
So... any suggestions for movies or TV series on Netflix?

If you like silly and scifi, try Red Dwarf, an 80s series from BBC. I also recomment the Miss Marple series with Geraldine McEwan.

Can you find some time to volunteer? I get sucked into Netflix with DH when he has time off and I always feel so guilty at the end of the day. We go to the stray animal shelter and walk the dogs now. It's a great time, and DD loves the animals.

That being said...I've been on bed rest (well as rested as I can be with a toddler, two dogs, two kittens, and two horses to look after...) for two weeks, I love the show Tanked on Netflix, about guys who build fish tanks out of some pretty cool stuff!

    Also on the list;
    Alaska State Troopers
    Flying Wild Alaska
    Ghost Hunters
    Grey's Anatomy
    Jockey's
    Buck (Movie)
    Doc Martin
    Sherlock
    Once Upon a Time
and when I REALLY feel like killing brain cells, Bridezillas.

    Twin Peaks!

The entire series was only 2 seasons, so with Netflix tv shows it's like a movie marathon. What an awesome tv show that was.

Friday Night Lights - best TV show, IMO
    Parenthood - the TV series
I'm also a big documentary fan, and there are too many on Netflix for me to mention them all!

I really wish I could. The problem is we're fairly isolated and transportation can be challenging. Especially after 5:30. I am doing some "remote volunteering" for a couple organizations back in the US which I enjoy a lot and I'm hoping to find somewhere to ride or take classes soon, so maybe there will be less time to mindlessly watch a screen in my future!

    Eureka (really fun sci-fi series)
    The West Wing

I had my floors redone upstairs so was banished to the basement for two weeks, and The West Wing saw me through all the banging and dust during the frigid month of January. Very addictive.

I just read your blog. Holy crap, I think 'isolated' is an understatement. What a wonderful experience for you. I hope that you are having a wonderful (safe) time and please keep updating. It's fascinating.

It's silly, but I sort of love it right now: Parks and Recreation.

A little known but excellent American television series entitled "In Treatment." The series was produced by Mark Walberg based on an Israeli tv series, and it stars Gabriel Byrne. It follows a number of characters who are patients of the same psychiatrist, as well as the psychiatrist's own life and interaction with his own therapist.

Also, if you haven't watched all of the "Sopranos" episodes, that should top your list.

    Hot in Cleveland.
MASH is always good for a laugh.
    The Tudors
    I second Rome.
Deadwood?? I think is the name of another series - adult only.
    I love Tanked as well.
My Cat From Hell is good - love what Jason Galaxy does with cats.

We only have Netflix instant watch and have watched the following series:

The Killing. - Great series! Remake of a Danish (?) series.
The Borgia - not bad! Watching S2 right now.
Wallander - the Swedish original, not the BBC one. The original is way better.
    The Tudors was good, too.
Spiral - French original series - loved it.
Breaking Bad - LOVE that one. Impatiently waiting for the next (and final?) season to begin.
Ottbs - The finish line is only the beginning!

Doc Martin........BBC series..........and it is especially great because the star, martin clunes, is a great horse/animal lover, and a very gregarious, jolly fellow in real life........as opposed to his on screen persona
