    Question Eyebrows and aging.........

I'm fine with the gray hair on my head, it's blending in nicely. But what is going on with my eyebrows? We're not talking gray hairs, we're talking white hairs that appear full length overnight and are impossible to miss amongst the brown. Does the shaft really lose all color overnight? So, now I'm into eyebrow pencil and some cool stuff that coats the hairs so the pencil color takes. But it really doesn't "take" well. Does anyone here dye their eyebrows? I really don't want to pluck them 'cause I'm not convinced they grown back. Any advice? Any products you use?

You mean the extra long ones that not only appear overnight, but curl straight outward, or upward, or both? Yeh, they are certainly distracting. I've been plucking them for several years now. So far, the eyebrows haven't thinned at all. I just figured that, when they got to be too plentiful, I'd just cut them to a reasonable length and live with them.

Sure wouldn't mind learning about an easy and safe way to conceal them, though.

Legend has it some older female in my family once grew a metallic light grey 5 1/2" "grandaddy" eyebrow poker, er, hair in one nights sleep.

Yep. Those be the ones! Just re-upped my supply of powder and the adhesive from eyebrowz.com. Does help to know I am not imagining this.

I have some of those too. I have started using this with very good results:

    http://www.amazon.com/Godefroy-Insta...s=eyebrow+tint

there are 4 capsules in it, but I only use a small portion of the capsule. It doesn't last six weeks for me, but is easy to touch up.

Either tint or use eyebrow powder less harsh and more natural looking then pencil IMO. Full brows are youthful looking so shape them up and trim any that are super long. Use a little eyebrow gel to hold everything in place!

Me too! I find one super long one & wonder how it magically appeared. Really, it is impossible for it to grow over night, but where was it hiding???

I am afraid of eyebrow tint. If I go blind I couldn't hang with horse or read COTH. what else is there?

does brow powder or pencil ever run or smudge? I have wanted to use one of the colored gels with a mascara wand (I use clear mascara as brow gel now).

I've been using a brow pencil for years as my hairs get increasingly sparse ... hasn't ever smudged. I have been reading about eyebrow tattoos. Not inexpensive but how nice to be waterproof and sweatproof!

A friend had hers tattoo in and she loves it.
As a very busy veterinarian, she has to look good and doesn't really has much time to spare and said that helped very much.

I don't have to look good in public, so don't worry about such things.

I would be careful with tattooing in such place as a first try.
Try first somewhere else, in case you have a reaction to what they use.

I remember not too long ago when my cousin said that about the time you turn 60 your eyebrows not only start to get a lot of white hairs but they also start to thin.

Sure is true in my family....

I do pluck the white ones and since I wear glasses, I've gone back to a heavier plastic frame from the lightweight metal ones so it sort of hides the thinning eyebrows.

PS. Eyelashes also thin as can be.....

This struck me as funny. I really don't care what my vet looks like, as long as he/she is competent and helps my horse!~lol

I knew about brow pencils...not much else. Gel, powder, tatoos, oh my!

Who do you get eye brow powder from? What is the brand?

I use a pencil. Would like a more natural, powder sounds great!

I use MAC eyebrow set. It is like mascara for your eyebrows....uses the same type of brush, and comes in different shades.

    Where do I get that?

That is exactly what I am looking for.

(ok how many sentences can I end with bad grammar?)

www.eyebrowz.com is where I started my adventures. 10 different shades of powder and a stick of adhesive that really does hold the powder in place. It doesn't smudge. However, the suggestions by nhwr look terrific and I'm heading over to Amazon to order. How sad is it that I have been waiting for OT day simply to ask this question! But, I knew I'd find the answer here.

I get copper wire eyebrow hairs now. I do mean copper, not gray. Weird as all heck, but I guess part of the roaning out I have been experiencing as a middle-aged redhead.

OMG this is so timely! I just this posted on my FB, "You know it's bad enough that can grow 3 inch hair on my arms but do I really have to have Andy Rooney eyebrows too."

While the gray (I'm mostly silver now) hasn't done a full invasion of my eyebrows they sure do seem to appear overnight.
