Default Having a broken saddle tree fixed

Does anyone ever have this done and any idea on a ball park estimate? My 20 year old Ainsley close contact saddle, which I love, seems to have suffered a break in the center of one side-how I have no idea! Really can't afford a new saddle and really don't want one! I m willing to spend some money to have it repaired and most likely take it to Journeyman in Middleburg. Thoughts?

    Take it in and ask.

It really depends on the break. If the tree needs to be replaced it would be far cheaper to buy a replacement saddle. If they can easily access and repair that point it might be worth doing.

I had a 1971 vintage Crosby Prix des Nations with a split on one side of the tree. I took it to Journeyman and indeed they fixed it up. This was oh, late 80s, maybe '87 or '88. It's still fine- admittedly I haven't used it in a few years, since it does not fit either current horse. They were very up front about saying they would call and let me know if on closer examination it was not fixable. And it was indeed much less expensive than a new saddle.

I had a tree replaced in a Baines dressage saddle about three years ago -- total cost was $750, plus shipping.
