Default Equine-Reproduction.com -- Kathy and Jos and the OK tornado devastation

If anyone has heard from them, please post that they have made it through the OK situation okay.

I emailed to Kathy this a.m. after yesterday's storms and hearing more was coming. Have not heard back. Thanks.

She and Jos are well known on this BB and have done so much for many.

I HOPE they managed to avert what has hit so many in OK. Just tragic. I saw a youtube video from yesterday with a big tornado taken from Wynnewood, which is their little town.

    Prayers to all in OK.

Hooray! When I heard about the tornado they were the first people I thought of. Hopefully they and the other COTHers in that area are okay.

They were also the first people I thought of. I know Kathy is visiting her daughter who is having a baby, and that Jos is home with the horses.
Glad to hear that all are ok.

Thank you everyone for your concern. As Fred noted, I am currently in Colorado. My daughter had a c-section this a.m. and delivered a beautiful baby girl this morning. Jos is holding down the fort at home and we have been very, very fortunate in that the storms have split and basically gone around our place.

There is a second wave of storms that are passing through this evening, but hopefully it will miss us as well. The devastation is just heartbreaking. Moore, which is about 50 miles north of us, was hit very, very hard. Our hearts go out to those that live there. Just incredible how much destruction .

Thank goodness. My heart goes out to all those who lost homes, or even worse, family members! OMG, TWO elementary schools destroyed - so many children

The storm weakened before it got to us, but Orr Family Farm had a direct hit and lost 75 to 100 horses.

My heart is breaking for all the people of Moore. They are saying that this might have been the most destructive tornado to date and this is the 3rd tornado to go exactly down this path in the last 10 years.

Plain As Bay Eventing was also a direct hit and lost all of their horses, too.

We are taking donations of horse supplies, equipment, etc. to help the equestrian folks in Moore start over. So sad!

My heart is in pieces knowing all the destruction but even moreso the loss of lives, human and animal

More bad weather today there, down in TX, and elsewhere - please, no more losses :

We are all thinking, and looking at what we can do to help everyone that needs help in OK and the other nearby areas. I have found a local aid foundation that is going to send relief to everone there. Later, if there are more horse related sites, we will look at them and also see what we can do for our equine friends. THIS IS ALL TOO MUCH FOR ANYONE TO HAVE TO DEAL WITH! Thinking about the Midwest.

I am so glad the cothers in OK are all right. I can hardly breathe after looking at the FB links and their photos and accounts of their lost horses.

If anyone wants to send items like equipment, tack, etc. to our farm, we will deliver the items when the tornado victims are ready to receive them. With the huge clean up process and the fact that most of the horses were lost, it will probably be some time before they are ready, but knowing Oklahomans they will want to restart ASAP. If anyone wants to donate funds, Leg-up is acting donations. Everything will be distributed to those most in need.

We have heard some good news that some of the horses at Orr Family Farm were found alive. Our understanding is that there was also a racing stable on the property and those horses were the ones that were lost. Plain As Bay Eventing lost everything.
