Default pics/vid post #30--I built a canoe and finally jumped it!!

Bring a bottle of vodka and I'll give you a canoe ride around my pasture!

I searched for an aluminum canoe (to complete my 1/2 coffin) for a few weeks and was finally tired of failed shopping. So I started scrapping a boat together last week.
I'm pretty happy with the final product.

Though I think the first time I point my horse at it I might do it without the flowers on top. It's a little bit of a spooky jump!!
    It's only 20" high but I think it's going to jump...er...really big.
In hind sight I wish it were 1/2 the size.

I pulled a pic of a "home made canoe" off of google to get a general idea of how to start.
Here are some pics of the building process:

    that's all.
I'm in love with it and I think it looks sooo cute by our pond.

My next project is to build a tee-pee town around my bank. We put a bank in the back pasture last month. I'm going to build 2 decorative tee-pees and some coups to go with the bank. I want to keep a cute native american theme.

    IM SO JEALOUS.

And I dont even do cross country.

In fact, the most jumping I ever do is popping over a tiny weeny cross rail.

BUT I LOVE IT!!!!!!!!!!! Make sure you film the first jump(s) over it!

    It is adorable. Good job.

Now on the title of the thread...I was trying to figure out how you build a canoe in relationship to what canoeing means here on COTH. I kept thinking the being drunk part might come before the random canoeing.

Canoe = another word COTH has ruined for me.

The sun is out, I should go paint on my free doors that are becoming panel jumps, but I've been struck down with the worst.cold.ever and am dying. I did manage to get out to the barn today and play with my boys, but urgh...it came at a cost.

On COTH "Going canoeing" = the act which can produce pregnancy in mammals.

Anything with the word 'canoe' in it means something entirely different to the frisky minded COTH'ers.

E-r-r-r, I let my arrow hover over the topic line of your thread and thought, "Oh, no! After someone found a 'child in her pasture', someone is finding a couple of people 'drinking and canoeing" on their property!!

SO GLAD to be proven wrong.

And VERY nice canoe---I want to jump it!
