Default Horse related items needed- pictures post #9 from last years event

Well it's that time of year again that I reach out to the wonderful COTH community asking for any horse related items be donated for this years Saddle Up for St. Jude trail ride. As many of you may remember, I lost my niece Savannah just two years ago to childhood cancer so this event is very close to my heart. http://youtu.be/Qoy0kdlTqQw.
This will actually be my 9th year hosting this event, having started it long before Savannah was diagnosed, and I certainly can't stop now. So I am asking that you dig thru your tack trunk, barn, videos, books, decor, clothing, etc and look for items that you no longer want or need. Used items will be used for the silent auction and new items can be used for door prizes or prizes for the person that raises the most money thru sponsorship. Nothing will be refused, great or small it ALL makes a difference! Tax deductible of course, I will send reciepts for all donations. Please look into your hearts and barns to help the children and families struggling with childhood cancer. Thank you as always for reading and considering donating!
    Donations can be sent to:

This is always a worthy cause and wonderful event that equislover puts on. I think this will be my fifth year attending and helping wherever I can. I think we have some pictures from last year's event.....Equis?

I came home friday to find an incredibly generous box of tack donated for the St. Jude ride. It truly made my week! Since I am not sure if you want to stay anonymous I won't list your name but please know that I am truly greatful for the tack donation and excellant timing of your tack purging. This was my first donation of the year and makes me hope this is going to be another fantastic year for the children of St. Judes. I am going to attempt a link for pictures from last years ride and silent auction, forgive me if it doesn't work (not great at this). It is a link on my facebook group, so you may need to request to join? https://www.facebook.com/home.php?re...662966/photos/

    Default Finally Some Pictures

I'm finally getting some of the pictures up from last year's ride. And just to show we're really actual people, the first includes equislover and me (ParadoxFarm). I'm in the purple scarf.

Though we all ride different disciplines at home, almost all of us ride western on these trails because of the hills! I rode in my h/j saddle once on the trails and just about flipped right off the back of it on a steep hill. Never again.

But some of my favorite pics from the event include:

Thank you ParadoxFarm for posting the links to the pictures. I have to say, this is my personal favorite though I may be partial as they are my biggest supporters.

On a serious note, the first reciept went out this morning, I apologize for the delay however I was waiting on the tax receipts before sending. Please do keep us in mind should you come across anything you no longer want or need. We are determined to win this battle no family should ever face.
Thank you all for your support.

Hello! I have been so very busy with personal stuff but hopefully got something in this months newsletter. If not it will be in next month. I have approached our local businesses and will stop in to talk to them soon. How is it going so far?

Great news horsefaierie, thank you for all you do! I have recieved one donation thus far from a very generous COTHer. So definately off to a slow start but hoping it picks up soon. No word from co-op yet if they will donate the western saddle for the grand prize but I am hoping and praying. I can't stress enough, anything is appreciated, no matter how great or small. We can make a difference!

I have some ideas on what I can send--please, please PM me. That video linked in your OP had the tears pouring. My cousin's son is a cancer survivor, diagnosed at age 7...the same age as my eldest now. He lost his leg, but has lost nothing else (certainly not the fire that is in the family blood, heh). He's 15 now.

bcody, funny seeing you here! I hardly ever see you on COTH. But it doesn't surprise me it would be in a thread like this.

Sending a pm now! This is an incredibly tough year so absolutely anything will be greatly accepted. My family still morns the loss of Savannah daily and dreams for the day when other children don't have to suffer the same fate. I am so glad your cousin's son won his battle!

Well, two contributors so far! Our local tack shop Bridles and Britches has made a donation and one of our feed stores. A local farm has told me to remind them to get a box together as well. SLow start but picking up some momentum!
