    Default TB Pedigree Analysis?

    Hi guys,

Just got a new project pony today, he's in rough shape and will definitely need several months of TLC to get back in a good groove, but there's a lot I like about him. Hoping some of our smart pedigree peeps can tell me about his family-given potential...?

    Pedigree:

His name is Notadream, but I'm calling him Ryan...hoping to inspire him to his full handsomeness...a la Ryan Gosling and Reynolds.

    Thanks so much!

Since nobody has answered you, I will try.

On top, your horse has Runaway Groom and Relaunch.
On the bottom, there is Sadlers Wells, Roberto and Princequillo.
All of these horses seem to produce good sport horses.

I know that Vineyridge and Judybigredpony can chime in with their take on your horse.

Do you have an photos that you can share?

I will try to link to his pics on FB...he's not in the best shape but I think he will be quite handsome in several months. Very sweet guy...

I see a lot of names that I like (and he should jump).....and love how he is put together in his photos. Some TLC and grass and he will be super nice. Just give it some time. He has a great shoulder and nice hind end. His neck will look good once you get his weight up. I got two that looked a lot worse in December and both look like show hunters now.

Yay! That's my hope! Groceries, grass and time... I keep telling him he will be a different horse in 6 months. Hope he jumps! His legs looks good, clean under the rain rot and he moves out sound...

I have had experience with both a Roberto son & a Relaunch son. Both scopey, effortless jumpers. The Relaunch gelding had 82 starts, retired sound. Super sturdy, huge hocks, strong willed. (I attribute his will with allowing him to survive at the track all those seasons). I would def have another 1 in my barn, & just hope he would be as athletic (& amusing). Good luck with your boy!!

He'll fill out nice...and lose the toes with a competent farrier. Please post more every 30 days or so, love to watch these.

On the side of trivia, his paternal grandpa, Cherokee Run? Didn't he win the Belmont with Julie Krone up for the first female Classic win circa 91 or 92? Or am I having a senior moment?

I really like his build as well, especially behind. And nice bone (I hate deer legs, LOL) and nice expression. I'm with Roma, I like big, beefy joints too! Plenty of good names on paper already mentioned. Roberto definitely seems to be one of the ones I have observed, along with Danzig and a couple others, to rather disproportionately reliably pass on great movement and sport ability, like a magic little jumping sperm, ha.

Thanks Didi! I figured the timing was good for both of us...

I gave him a long bath today, fungus shampoo and shortened his mane, he seemed very happy with the grooming and bathing as long as I used the softest brushes. Not so happy with the mane work...I cheated and used thinning shears, he seemed to think they were instruments of torture! Poor guy.

He's brave though, was worried about my dark cross ties, but just put one foot in front of the other and sniffed it out...eventer brain I think

Thanks for all the inputs everyone, I will definitely update with pics as we go!
