Default Abcess, laminitis or am I overreacting???

Before I begin, I am a horrible about overreacting! This morning I was cleaning my horses feet and I noticed one hoof(left front) was very warm while the rest were cold to the touch. I also was able to feel his digital pulse while I could not find it on the other hooves. So now, I am in panic mode! I lunged him and noticed no lameness, he does not seem uncomfortable at all either.

Could it be a bruise, abcess or most unlikley laminitis in one hoof! Aghhhhh............................. Help!!!

Unless your horse has had laminitis, or is at risk due to weight or medical factors, I would recommend watchful waiting.

Or he could have been standing with that one foot in the sun and the rest in shade... stranger things have happened...

Temperature to the hand is notoriously unreliable. Now if you had a thermal imager......

If he is trotting sound and continues to trot sound tomorrow, I would relax.
Some riders change their horse, they change their saddle, they change their teacher; they never change themselves.
