Default Ugh, flies on foal cam:(

We don't even really have flies yet as it has been cold but at night this damn f*#@in' fly keeps sitting right on my camera lens. i guess it is attracted to the infrared light. and there is no way for me to prevent it...ugh

    Any advice?

They are very annoying. What I do is put "Wipe," the fly repellant used on horses' faces, around (but not on) the lens. It does help.

That's a great idea. I think I have gnats occasionally land on mine, and they look like ghost insects in the infra-red lighting. I'll try the Swat idea around the lens. These are the far reaches of experience in breeding!

Not a fly, but I have had spiders camp out on the lense. Looks like something from arachnaphobia on my screen, ick!

We have a spider web strand on the corner of the lens, which is very distracting. We got a new camera which is much more sensitive than our former one, and it picks up all the dust motes at night. It looks like the mare is standing in a blizzard.
