    Red face So This Morning

I was at Donida Farm braiding a boat load and a half of dressage ponies. I had 9 which seems excessive for a dressage show but I am not complaining! So, I started at midnight and got going.

Right after I finished this handsome Andalusian (one of my favorites)-

    http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps2424f23b.jpg

I went to braid this horse (another of my favorites, it was getting close to 5 am, I save my favorites for last)--

    http://i910.photobucket.com/albums/a...ps73ce5a9e.jpg

The horse behind the above horse had the most loudest, ripe sounding, biggest butt blasting farts I have ever, EVER heard. To the point that darling Prince even raised an ear and eyebrow. It was quite a show and I started laughing, really laughing, like leaning into the horse and loudly laughing half bent over. Well, I have been eating a super healthy diet lately, full of fiber and you guessed it, I added into the second movement. LOUD! That made me start almost screaming laughing, tears rolling, Prince even laughed I think. It was Mozart in the Morning Dressage Barn style

    Except.

    I was not alone.

I happened to catch glimpse of a wide eyed in horror face across the aisle.

Listen up dressage ladies! It is not appropriate to come to the barn before 5:30 or 6! Just stay away! This is private time!

She did seem nice later and honestly I was too tired to notice if she was still freaked out?

This post almost makes me want to start competing again

I must say, I joined COTH less than a year ago, and the Off Course forum never fails to deliver.

    Do the hunters, not dressage.

Well, at least in the hunters the trainers/riders/grooms don't come busting in at all hours of the night ruining the poor tired braiders fart and laugh fest. Very inappropriate!

I can sooo picture that - and see myself in the same situation. The number of times I have ended up in helpless giggles because of my horses!! And then once started, I just can't stop

You could have always just blamed the horse you were braiding for your "noises".

    I know!

Apparently, however, farts are "meh" in Europe. I don't even get it.

    That was funny to read.

I wonder if that lady was shocked because she thought all those loud noises were from you.

Thanks for a great laugh, OP. Wouldn't it be great if "the onlooker" (onlistener?) were a COTH member and stumbled across this thread? She might say, "Oh sure, Sweetie. Blame the horse for that first thunder clap. Mmm-hhhhmmm....."

Well, way to set an example for the horses! Is this an example of if you cannot beat then, join them? Or more a competition to see who is the loudest?

    Nice braiding job though.

ETA Did you know that adult males in a certain profession, guys that I know, have competitions where they actually light the gas? Adult males. Adult males who are professionals. Who of course drink while they do this. Learning that was one of the things I did not want to know about men.
