The throat latch looks a little tight, despite the horse's "helpful" pose. Can you fit your hand sideways between the horse's throat and the strap?
And on the figure-8: I'd prefer to see the upper strap just ahead of the horse's cheek, not down as you have it. That will pull the crown piece back in line. Right now, it's twisted to the front of the cheek piece.
When you have this top strap higher up on the face, the center of the figure 8 will move up, too.
But really, see what your horse likes. The beauty of a figure 8 is that you can use more than one strap around the horse's jaw for him to run into if he wants to open his mouth. It doesn't need to be tight. I have messed around with a figure 8 that is tighter on the upper loop than the bottom one and found at least one horse for whom that made all the difference.
So don't worry about using textbook correct fit if your horse wants something else. FWIW, the textbook fit with the upper strap farther up the jaw probably is the softer way to go.
Something got messed up- I think your figure 8 might be over the crown of the bridle, and then it seems to run through the cheek piece?!? But that can easily be fixed....what can't be fixed is that I just don't think this bridle really fits your guy that well. The throat latch seems tight, but the buckle will look terrible any lower and the figure 8 seems big, as does the browband. I know some of that can be adjusted, but if this is brand new, you might want to keep looking
Elislove, thank you for taking the time to post a pic. I will use it as a guide. Your horse is very elegant.
I see what you mean, I knew something wasn't right but couldn't figure it out. The front straps are so short they are pulling the cheek pieces forward.
k, will fix that and make sure the noseband pieces are under the cheek piece.
The throatlatch is loose enough, it has draped forward on her cheek which makes is look tight, when she lifts her head there is a gap.
thanks for the advice.

ok I have made a few sdjustments, now taking pics with cell phone so a bit off center. I wonder if the cheek strap should be tighter? I could put a few holes in it.
I think my mares head is a bit on the short side so the proportion of the bridle doesn't look quite right.
Ideally I would like the brow band to be longer.
