You are crying because you are The Best Grandma in the Universe, besides being a good horseperson.

And for the same reason I flew out of my office like my a## was on fire when the shipper called to tell me he was nearly at my farm....4 years ago this December, with Sam onboard.

I can't say why, but the words, "Because you are honoring King," came to mind. King is the dearest horse of your life and he "found" Parker for you.

... the love he left behind.

SLW -- you know he drives? Maybe you can point me in the right direction so DH and I can learn, too! Come on over Saturday if you have time!
Eeeep, a driving pony, lot's of fun and I would be happy to help you evaluate what he knows about driving. I have a full plate tomorrow with horse stuff but sure do want to meet Parker.

It's not too hot here but do check him, pinch test, for dehydration when he gets off the trailer...only horse women look past the pretty new face and right into the horse trailer to see the quality of feces he made during a 24 hour haul.....and check those first piles he makes at your place to get an idea of how his gut is working. So glad he will have a day here to recharge before the storms roll through on Sunday.

12 hours ... he's supposed to be here in 12 hours!

No -- I am NOT sleeping! DH is out of town, it's just me and the dog and he is definitely sleeping! Fortunately, my trainer and her hubby are coming over tomorrow morning to help me wait. Yes, somehow I need "help" to wait!

I finally got 3 hours of sleep...

Headed out to the barn for the finishing touches -- installing bucket brackets, hanging feed and water buckets, halter and lead rope, etc.

I will post photos when we have them!

Shipper just called! ETA is moved up to 11:30 ... just a few hours now!

I actually came in from doing chores, anxious to see an update! I suppose I can go back outside and do something until then......

First thread I checked upon awakening on the west coast... now pulling up another lawn chair to await Parker's arrival. Little does he know he's going to have a virtual welcoming committee.

Buckets are hung, water bucket is filled. Pony-sized halter (in baby blue) with matching lead rope -- which match the buckets, too, I might add -- all hung and ready. Came in to grab a cup of coffee.

    Three hours ...
