    Default Kittens!

DD and I were off for a walk on Friday evening and found two little kittens under a bush. I knocked on the door and the lady said that the mother had brought them earlier in the week, but never showed back up. I asked if I could take them and she said she could have cared less what happened, so I scooped them up and they rode home in the cup holders of the stroller.

I've never had kittens quite this small before, but they are eating wet food, using their box, and drinking fairly well. Google tells me they are between 5 and 6 weeks old. Their little eyes are still blue! One male and one female.

The black and white female is super brave, and happily ventures out of their bathroom every morning and kicks the dogs off the couch when it's time for a nap! The orange male is a bit more skittish and spends most of his time in the bathroom, but will consent to a snuggle. Once he's brought out into the room, he'll happily adventure about the room.

They have an appointment at the vet here on post in a few days, as I think that they are old enough to be wormed at least. A once over won't hurt, at least! DH was against keeping them, but I caught him snuggling them in bed last night while he was reading, so I think it's safe to say that they are staying. No names yet.

    And yes...

    Pictures!

Of all the things to play on...

She booted the dogs off their couch for a nap.

    Naps all around!

How cute! My son and I are thinking about fostering kittens for a local rescue this summer. We miss having babies!

I hope their vet check-up is uneventful. Enjoy!

Thanks for the pics I need to live vicariously through you and others, as we will NOT have any new baby kitties around here for awhile.

Too cute! Makes me want to get one as a playmate for my cat Simba. He needs something else to do during the day other than chew my Dansko clogs!

They appear to be QUITE at home! I love that you caught Hubby snuggling! Just don't say anything, and soon he'll never imagine life without them! Thanks for the pics - going through some rough stuff right now, and the pics made me smile!

Oh, what CUTE lucky kittens!!! Baby kittehs are SO much fun - but I have never had two at once. Guarantee you they will keep you amused! I'd tie up any draperies right now . . . . . When Oliver first came home at 12 weeks it was a couple of days before Christmas. On the 26th I wondered why my tree was shaking - he had climbed all the way up on the inside.

You SO needed to put an "Over the Top Cuteness" warning in your thread title!!
I mean, all kittens are cute, but these two are definitely super-cute.

So many karma-kudos to you for rescuing them & giving them such a lovely responsible home.

Put them in the 2-fer drink holder on the stroller.

You were clearly meant to have these kittens. Not only do I never find stray cats, but I don't have an easy and exactly-the-number-needed container for the cats with me.

You couldn't have had a more convenient cat adoption if you got them at a drive-thru.

Thanks everybody! They are settled right in and rather enjoying life!

I highly encourage kitten adopting in pairs... then they can play with one another. Of course when they do destroy it's double the fun! We woke up this morning to an entire toilet paper roll shredded and two very happy kitties sleeping in the middle of the mess! Hubby is insistent that they sleep in the bed from now on, stating "They don't have a comfy enough sleeping spot, which is why they shredded the toilet paper." He doesn't really understand about bed mice yet.

They are super fun, and I'm thinking that we're the ones that were lucky to be hired, not the other way around! Little blessings for sure!
