I took my 'new' german riding pony mare to her first recognized show last weekend, which brings her total show count up to three. I had hoped to qualify in a weekend (one can dream, right?), or at the very least have four nice calm accurate tests.
Tilly and I earned the High Point award for the open division for both days with scores of 71% and 72%!
Congratulations!!!! Ahem, I heard you may be snagging Bucky. Is that true?
And yes, I will be stealing Bucky after the championships. It works out because I have not one, but two comfort ponies for him. My mom will be taking RC the Wonder-Pony back to TX to start her own show career.
This dressage stuff can be addicting....
My mare is finally sound after a year of suspensory and stifle injuries. I had vets say she take her in for surgery and a coach who said she was done. I followed my gut and had a different vet look at her and I got a new coach who is just awesome and is all about having the horse move correctly.
Yesterday I had a lesson and towards the end I was able to sit the trot, my mare was holding herself nicely and felt like she was just floating underneath me. I cried after my ride, I am just so happy I have my horse back! 24 hours after that ride and I still can't wipe the grin off my face or stop thinking about that feeling!!
