    Default Going rates on mortality insurance?

    3.7% is my current rate. Anyone know of better deals out there?

    It all depends on what your horse is doing some will charge higher rate depending on their performance - like eventing is higher % than h/j. Many of the insurance companies will give you a fairly fast online quote. I've been quite happy w/ Markel and Hallmark.

    Hallmark is 3.6% for h/j- not a big difference- I think the Hartford (through Broadstone) is 3.25%

    The rate depends on the horse's age and riding discipline.
