Default Need help determining seat size of older Courbette

I am listing a saddle for a friend. I can't see where the seat size is stamped. She bought it in around 1990. The saddle is stamped 170847 1 32. The saddle measures 18.5 inches from cantle to button, whereas my Passier 17.5 measures a good 19 inches.

Does the number 1 represent the seat size, as with Kieffer saddles? I just want to give an accurate description when I list it. I can't seem to find contact info on the company to ask them.

    TIA

That's odd that your Passier is so off with actual size vs. stamped size, I've never seen such a big difference. If the saddle you're selling measures 18.5", then that's what I'd advertise it as. To contact Courbette for a better answer, this is the contact email I could find- courbette@alink.com. Good luck!

I suggest you avoid the whole issue by advertising whatever it really measures, plus a picture of the saddle with the tape measure stretched from pommel nail to center of cantle. Then, people can make up their own minds.

I added a picture of the measurement of the seat to my listing. I also got an almost instantaneous response from an email to the address JSjumper provided. It does indeed have a 17 inch seat.

Now, as for the faulty measuring tape, I use an ancient tape from my mother's ancient sewing kit. Suffice it to say that I was using wrong. Duh. It measures 17.5 inches. So, thanks, everyone!
