    Default Century Ride, Newest Member

Please joint me in congratulating my friend June on earning her Dressage Foundation Century Award today. She rode my 30 year old horse, Mydan Mydandy+ and I believe is the 126th recipient of this award.

Special thanks go to Leslie at Lighten Up Dressage for running a great show and to the Dressage Foundation-they even called June yesterday to wish her luck on the ride.

Dandy could not believe it when we started discussing this possibility-he was firmly convinced that he was retired with a capital "R". June has ridden him lots before, so the extra rides did not clue him in to his "un-retirement". He got very suspicious yesterday for an unexplained bath in chilly weather. He was down right dubious this morning when I braided him. He got off the trailer and glared at me, with an "I told you so" look. After all of that, they did amazing. She earned an incredible 70% in her Intro B ride and he did not look, nor act his age!

To make it even more special for me, this is the horse that I have owned for the last 28 years and I have pictures of me next to him on the day he was born.

Here is the one picture that I have gotten from a friend. I was too busy being a proud "mama" to take any myself. I am sure that we will get some better ones which I can post if anyone is interested.

It is where the ages of horse and rider add up to 100 or more.

As promised, here is the link from the show photographer of her wonderful pictures of the Century Ride. I plan to order several of them and hope that she will allow them to be submitted to the Dressage Foundation and the Arabian Horse Association.
