Default Looking for hay near Twin Cities

My BO says he is going to have to go to Fergus Falls to pick up small bales @ $8! That is an 8 hour drive.

Does anyone know of any decent grass hay closer than that? He is east of TC, so Wisconsin is def. an option. We need small bales.

I am interwebs searching right now, thought I would ask.

Take a look at the Eau Claire craigslist, there are listings
    in western Wisconsin on there.

From the Ellsworth, WI shopper paper I just received today:

Grass & Alfa, Smalll Square Bales 715-448-2225

Small squares, horse hay, delivery available 715-495-2112

I don't know these sellers so cannot comment on quality.
I do have a nearby neighbor who makes excellent hay (and
also maple syrup). I don't know if he has any left from the
2012 crop but could put your barn owner in touch for the
    coming year if desired.

Thanks Robin. Tomorrow I may end up calling those two places from your paper.

I saw that there is a "Hay Sale" at the auction barn in Cannon Falls. I called the guy & left a message to see what type of bales they have, etc. Anyone have experience here?

Googling around I have found a few leads. I haven't talked to any human beings yet, but I am hopeful.

Also check north of the border. There is a paper called The Western Producer that has online ads and there are people in Manitoba and Saskatchewan that would happily run a semi load to your area. Saw three loaded trucks headed somewhere south the other day.
