Hello, wanted to get your opinions on the coloration and markings of my Welsh/Paint pony. He has the most beautiful tail with the white markings. I suspect Rabicano showing itself. I am interested in the darker coloration and spots that he shows hen clipped and the areas with a lot more white shading in different areas. He also has the ventral midline white patch. His sire was a black and white tovero Paint stallion, and his mother was a bay Welsh medium pony. Any comments on the darker spots or in general appreciated. He is eye catching in the ring and the judges eat him up! (Fortunately for me!)
yes, they can be very precvalent and even more so when body clipped. My Palomino German WB mare had them all over her butt (she was sabino). The white markings have nothing to due with the spots it really just varies by horse

Sorry so ignorant here, the Sabino is that the white markings on the limbs and face and the abdomen being jagged, and the Rabicano the tail "skunking"? His color fascinates me that he has so many anomalies!
In this particular case, I nearly guarantee Splash is making the face white bottom heavy, pulling that LH sock up so high, and putting the horizontal top on the LF sock. Then yes, Sabino has put some zig into the edges. The belly spot is probably Splash as well, with a jagged edge from Sabino.
The tail is most definitely Rabicano, as well as the heavy ticking I think I see in the flank area in Pic 2.
