I'm sorry for your loss. She sounded like a lovely critter with a neat personality.
A good horseman doesn't have to tell anyone...the horse already knows.

Might be a reason, never an excuse...

Yes you did good OP. You put her needs before your own. That is the honorable thing to do. And she knew she was loved to the very end.

How lucky she was to have someone who loved her enough to give her a gentle passing. My heart goes out to you. Doing the right thing isn't always the easy thing.

So sorry for you loss. She sounds like she was a very special kitty.

As GraceLikeRain said, doing the right thing isn't always the easy thing, but you put her need ahead of yours as a wonderful pet owner does.

I wish you peace & comfort. Sometimes it's harder on us to do right by them. You did the right thing. The last thing she felt was love. <3

    I'm so sorry
My 17-year-old girl is stretched out in my lap as I read you're saying goodbye. Kind of hits hard! I'd give you a hug if I could (which doesn't take the pain, of course).
I am so, so, so sorry

So sorry for your loss. Sure gave me a tear in my eye to read that she was purring in your arms - they are such pure spirits!

I agree with the "better a day too soon". Have waited too long with 2 of mine and vow never to let that happen again. I still miss some of those who were like your Carmella was to me (Bandit, Arthur, Mac...), and am in that wait-and-see mode with our old lady Chesapeake Bay Retriever, Maggie. We treasure each day with her and know that those special things she does will stay with us for many years.

    Godspeed sweet Carmella....
