I'm wanting to find more resources for horses on facebook and was wondering who everyone else has as friends? I have:
Athletes (ie: Mary King, Reed Kessler, Andrew Nicholson, etc)
Associations (ie: Area IV, USEF, Kansas HJ Association)
Others (OTTB Connect, Chronicles Forums)
And of course local farms and my instructor!
What other pages do you like that stay relevant and are updated? Who are your favorite Hunter, Jumper, or Eventing athletes? What about horses, any of them have updated pages?
Equestrians From Back In The Day
As Seen Through Horses Ears
Back Country Horsemen of America
Foxhunters on Facebook
Utah Horse Council
The barn where I board
A number of hunt clubs
Probably others but that's what comes to mind.
I follow: ProEquest, HJU, Riders4Helmets, Judge My Ride, FEI at WEF (I believe this is the official FEI page, but they couldn't change their name after WEF ended, lol), Horse MLS, USEF, as well as many riders, barns, and horses.
Everyone is running from something. Especially this person I'm chasing.
Bluebonnet Equine Humane Society of course (and several Bluebonnet related pages)
Quarter Horse News (I think that's the right name) - I'm not a QH person but they post some good articles
Texas Animal Health Commission (not exclusively horse-related)
Farm and Ranch Freedom Alliance (not exclusively horse-related)
And probably a million others that I'm forgetting.
I have tons of cowhorse trainers (Les Vogt, Teddy Robinson, Sandy Collier, Jake Gorell, Russell Dilday, Richard Winters, Al Dunning, etc.), other trainers, including my local trainer (Matt Sheridan) & friends who train;
Various horse associations (VCHA, NRCHA, AQHA, AHA, AHCA, ACTHA, ETI),
It's good if you're kind of older, chubbier, a little bit afraid of falling off, not interested in showing and stuff, but still trying to do something fun with a really cute horse + a really cute donkey.
I enjoy the Mozambique Horse Safari:https://www.facebook.com/africanhorsesafari . It is an organization started by an incredible couple who saved horses after white people's farms were destroyed in Zimbabwe as part of Mugabe's Land Redistribution program. They moved the horses to Mozambique and started the safari. Follow the page if you can handle incredible pictures of horses galloping across white sandy beaches and swimming in clear oceans complete with bright blue skies while its rainy and 40 wherever you are, lol.
I'm also friends with Bitterroot Ranch - I can't find the link but do a search. I used to work there, so I love keeping up with the happenings :-D.
