Ex H/J rider here, with green 10yo OTTB who raced extensively. Eventing has been catching my interest this past year.
Got to watch Lynn Symansky briefly on Sunday, and out of curiosity, looked up Donner's pedigree, and noted several of the same names behind my guy - Herbager, Vaguely Noble, Tom Fool, Turn-to. Any that count eventing wise?

I know just one ancestor doesn't make a huge difference, but there are two things that have struck me about Donner's pedigree.
One is the mare, Glad Rags in the stallion who is by the very good for sport Hyperion son High Hat. Along with that are quite a number of lines to Hyperion. IMO, Hyperion is almost a necessity for dressage TBs. Gorky Park's tail female is to Two Lea, one of the best TB broodmares ever.
Herbager is excellent for stamina. As I've pointed out before, he was probably the last stout/professional TB (dosage terms) imported to the US to stand for racing.
The bottom is equally nice, and having Vaguely Noble, along with several Hyperion lines in the tail female just reinforces his Hyperion. Vaguely Noble was known for good moving TBs.
