Smile Tack Room is Painted! Saddle & Bridle Racks Next!

So, we finally got the skylight fixed in the new tackroom, no more leaks ... and we finally got the stone floors & mats put in ... and we finally got a nice weekend to work in the barn again!

    Our progress so far:

I also have baseboard trim to install, also white...but I am out of gas for this weekend!

I'll install the cabinet, saddle racks and bridle racks next. Then, I will have to paint the outside and get King's sign on the door. Whew ... a lot of work, but a labor of love!

(As some of you know, we decided to turn King's stall into a tack room, since neither DH nor I could stand to look at it sitting empty. I have to admit, the conversion process is not a lot easier. Standing in there this afternoon, I just broke down and cried -- realizing that as nice as it is going to be to finally have a tack room, I would gladly go without if King would grab my shirt tail and grin at me with those laughing eyes just one more time.)

Thanks guys! I'm going to have to take a little break before finishing -- going out of town on business this weekend, plus my hands are soooo sore from all the painting ... I can barely type!

All the saddle and bridle racks are here, sitting in my living room. Hopefully, I'll pull it all together in two weeks!

You have done a great job. Just remember when you get sad, that King is right there with you. It is so painful, but I always take comfort that they are at peace.
