    Question Attention all color specialist

My now yearling is turning from a dark brown to a light bay. I absolutly love her new color! One thing that baffles me is the fact that she is growing white hairs at the dock of her tail. She dosent have any white hairs anywhere else. I went through her pedigree and I didn't notice any roans and the greys were far back. Any idea why she has the white hairs at the base of her tail?

Rabacino. It causes roaning in the flanks and at the base of the tail. It can be very minimally expressed or bold enough to look like a roan. It's not likely to be mentioned in a pedigree.

Is that even possible with having greys over 5 generations back? She's a registered TB- Dauntless Diva.

White hair at the dock of the tail is classed Rabicano. You may also find she develops white hairs around her flanks.

If neither parent is gray, she cannot possibly be gray

As noted, rabicano is not related to grey.
