Default Quick Pentosan question- Needle size

My Pentosan is arriving today! This is my first time using it, I've got my dosing down, but I forgot to ask the vet what needle size I should use. So what is everybody using? I have 18-22 guage in 1" -1.5" on hand and a few 16 guage that I keep for Penicillin.

Also injection sites? I tend to do neck or haunches for vaccines... any preference for the Pentosan?

I use 22g X 1.5" for IM injections. I gave in the pecs or neck.

I used it for the first time yesterday. I gave it in the neck with a 1" 22g needle. It worked fine.

Could someone remind me of the typical loading dose? I think I misplaced my instructions. Thanks!

Nothing strange about it- use whatever you typically use for IM. I do 21 gauge 1.5" in the neck.

Does it matter if you use a 1" or 1.5" in the neck?

My vet said use 1.5", has had problems injected too shallow. Not sure what.

I prefer a 1" needle as they're a bit more sturdy and less likely to flex. But I bury it--1 inch is plenty deep IME.

Also, do you change needles after drawing up meds? I have done it both ways...not sure if I noticed a difference either way with the sharpness of the needle.

I have been using a 1'' and was freaking out after I found out most people use 1.5''

Just an update- I used 1.5" 20 guage in the neck. No issues.
