Default Rolex - am I missing something??

So I was looking at the Omnibus listing for the rk3de just now. Is it possible the entry fee for this event is REALLY only $100???? And a stall is only $140? Seems I paid more than that for local USEA events!

That's correct. I think I read somewhere that the sponsors pick up the difference to make it affordable for everyone?

Yup that is correct, If I recall from past years when I was eventing, it was always that low.
I used to look at it in my omnibus,(My Area) And think, gee I can afford that.

Sannois - that's what I was thinking! Gee, what an affordable event! If, of course, you discount the cost of years of training, the right horse, veterinary care, FEI fees, travel and show costs associated with getting a horse and rider to that level. I guess it really isn't that "affordable" after all!

Yes. Rolex is often a "sigh of relief" for many ULR's. They are not dinged for everything like they are at other events, and are treated to many things - swag and other things -- as well as saving a good deal on entries, stalls, and fees there. It is one of the cheapest in terms of cost that they have, and it's welcomed, believe me.
Traditionally the event has been able to pick up these costs because they are well funded and sponsored.

I remember not too many years ago the entry was $50!

Yes, but how many other eventing venues can charge what
Rolex does for spectators and for trade fair booths? If that
were an option, other organizers could offer cheap entry for
    riders, too.
