for my horses I use the same vet for everything because there isnt another really in my area and Im only like 8-10 minutes from the actual vet facility so its convenient.
for my dogs I use the same vet but I dont do shots or the "simple" things at the vet...I use a thing we have around here called the Care-A-Van....they have licensed vets that go around and give discount shots and things to the community. I have 3 dogs so this saves me lots of money!
I use the clinic I work at for surgical procedures, sicknesses and emergencies for my cats/dogs (and if I needed a chicken looked at I know they would LOL!) and I also use a mobile vet for vax on all of my barn cats (they number in great masses LOL) that people so wonderfully bestowed upon me, horses and goat because it would cost a fortune for the vet's to look at all of my animals were as I can get away with one "farm call" charge with the mobile vet.
The horses have two vets: Vet A does spring shots, dental work and Coggins. Vet B does chiro/acupuncture, emergencies, and any soundess/vision/other issues that arise.
Cats (3) go to the vet that is 1/4 mile from the house. They are indoor cats and only get vaccines every 2 years. This clinic does basic vet work, and doesn't have any specialists on staff.
Dogs (3) go to a clinic about 1/2 hour from home. They have several specialists on staff (orthopedic, geriatric, dental), and with two of the three dogs over the age of 12, this works for their older age needs. This clinic also has access to more diagnostic equipment, which I prefer. If there were an emergency that needed immediate (as in within the next 5 minutes) treatment, we would go to the cat's vet and then transfer them to their regular clinic.
We also have an after hours vet that, thankfully, we haven't had to use in a while.
