Default Spin Off: Movies That Make You Cry

I used to think the the remake of "The Champ" with Ricky Schroeder was the ultimate in movies that make you cry. I don't think my eyes were dry the entire movie. Then I saw one that was even worse but I can't recall the name of it, and surprisingly it wasn't an animal movie. I'm pretty sure it wasn't Terms of Endearment

What is your list of tear-jerking movies? .

I try to avoid movies that make me cry because I'm not one of those that can have a conservative sniffle, when it rains, it pours with me.

Dumbo here too! My son (33) thinks it's all too funny to make me watch the Baby Mine song on YouTube, and make me tear up.

Bambi, Billy Elliot, and War Horse. And pretty much any film where characters struggle with poverty and oppression . . . that gets me sobbing every single time.

I am a huge cry baby when it comes to movies. I even teared up at the very last episode of the show Weeds just because I was sad it was over and I really liked the characters lol.

Movies that make me cry are pretty much every Disney movie... like The Fox and the Hound, Bambi, Dumbo, The Lion King, etc. Anything with an animal in it makes me cry.

Where the Red Fern Grows, Marley and Me, Toy Story 3, Up, just to name a few.

    Old Yeller
    Bambi
    Dances with Wolves

In other words, almost any movie where an animal dies. I cry hysterically then will never, ever watch that movie again. I try very hard to learn ahead of time what happens to the animals, and will not watch a movie if cruelty to, or death of an animal is involved.

Out of Africa. But really because of Karen Blixen's life, not the actors.

Marley and Me...and that was before I had my own dogs! (one of which tragically died) and one of which I have now. I don't think I can ever watch it again, lol. Not a movie, but the book "Where the Red Fern Grows". We had to read that in group reading in class, and I barely could keep it together, and that was when I was 10! Everybody cried reading that book, even the teacher, who must have read it hundreds of times.

    The Wizard of Oz
    Casablanca
National Velvet ( I start crying the moment it begins)
