We had a litter near my barn a few years ago and the little ones were so cute. At first I thought they were fluffy kittens! They're so cat-like in their ways and such fun to watch when hunting, especially when they pounce really high.
For two days in a row when I have been out riding in the pasture on the evening, I have heard the crows screaming and screeching carrying on something awful. And lo and behold, mr/mrs fox! The crows were following and harassing the fox. Bold as brass it was out doing fox business. I hope it has kits somewhere.
I love foxes. You have great pics! I have one that I've seen here once in four years. My neighbors have seen it, too. It must be very shy or have better places to frequent. My property backs up to 10 acres of clear cut that was logged before I moved in (so very grown up now) and the neighbors have about eight acres of pasture/trees.
The one time I saw my fox it was a twilight at the back of my paddock that backs up to the clear cut. I'm thinking it lives back there.
