    Default Whatever happened to....

Scimitar? He was owned by Ursula Ferrier (same person who had Innkeeper) - she used to post here but hasn't in a loooong time. Just curious as we had one foal by him out of Salute The Truth's dam and she is really nice - he seemed like one of those out-of-the-box-thinking event sires.

Feel free to add your own "Where is..." question.

Wow- what a coincidence. I had 2 gorgeous boys by Scimitar and have an Innkeeper mare who is doing very well in eventing. I plan to breed her and was trying to find out if there is any Scimitar frozen semen available. I belive she did geld him (so sorry - I would have bought him to use for breeding. I put a message on her facebook page.

I spoke to her recently. There is frozen on Scimitar available.

Thanks. That's a bummer (good that she's got frozen though!). The one we bred is competing Advanced with her owner and is really a nice mare. Some of the recent threads on Event sires got me to thinking of him. Not that the stallion is the only thing that made her nice because Willy's dam was a fantastic broodmare, but still... ise - what are your two doing? We had two Innkeeper's as well - one mare and one gelding - the mare's not doing much and the gelding is doing well as a jumper/equitation horse out in CA.

The mare Illiniza who is out of a SWB mare by Gaugin de Lully who is Westfalen on the bottom is eventing with Ryan Wood at Novice right now. "Lilly" is a fabulous jumper ...like a cat ...she can jump anything and has the Secretariat gallop. Sometimes gets a bit excited in the Dressage phase. So I was considering Scimitar because the two we bred had fabulous conformation and one competed very well in Dressage.

Yes! Zara (owned by and competing with Tracey Bienemann) often is one of the few horses to make the time XC at Advanced. She's just a gorgeous animal that screams "eventer" when you look at her.

Huh. Anyone know why he was gelded? He seemed to be a pretty cool stallion.

Nothing worse than finding a stallion who has produced an Advanced horse (and other very nice offspring according to these posts!) only to find he was gelded... Ugh!
