I think it sounded similar to fox in distress call. As I know I have a ton of fox on my property that is a lot more plausible than a fisher I have a grey fox on my property that I see periodically and have named him/her "crazy-like-a"
Thus far i have only heard the fox make that nipping noise. Not a good way to wake up at 5 in the morning on a Saturday!
I think I asked a similar question about a year ago...after researching a lot of sound recommended by COTHers, I deduced it was a fox...mating season. It was alway very early in the morning, when it was still dark, and I heard it only for a few days.
