Default Old Horse Show VHS tapes...

Can they be transferred to a DVD?
I have several old VHS tapes of Old horses that have long since left this earth, Some precious memories, but I fear they will soon be un viewable as some are from 1983.
IS there a company or a way to have them transferred to a DVD. I would hate to lose them.

Sure. It can be done if the tapes are in working order. There are VCR/DVD combo players that do it for you or you can get it done by a third-party company.

You'll have to check your local Yellow Pages.

Google "copying VHS to DVD". I can't figure out how to copy and paste in this Ipad, or I'd give you a link. There are a couple of companies that have a flat rate to copy how ever many tapes you can stuff into a certain size box. I had so many I ended up buying a combination recorder/player (got mine at best buy) and just did it myself.

BTW don't get a cheap recorder though, if you decide to do it yourself. The 1st one I got was under $100, and it ate one of my VHS tapes The one I have now is a Panasonic, and it was $300

There are options to do a VHS to your computer as well; then you could use your computer to burn a DVD (this is what my family does).

I know $30 per tape seems pricey, so see what the VHS to DVD recorders sell for, and decide which is cheaper. I had one at one time, and it wasn't too pricey, but I think the price has gone up. And as Randomequine said, CVS and Walgreen also do this, so price it out. And there might be someone locally that does this too, and might be cheaper.
