    Default Arabian Makes Dressage History

Here is a great story about an Arabian, EA CYGNUS+//, that is one of only 2 horses in history to earn a USDF Horse Performance Certificate at every level. He is also the only Arabian to earn a USDF JR/Young Rider Grand Prix HOTY Award!

Awesome horse. My friends and I were very taken with him at SHN. And it is wonderful to see an Arabian being honored. Many of them make truly lovely dressage horses. My PB gelding would be cleaning up at dressage shows if I were a better rider!

    YAYYYY Cygnus!!!

And I am honored to own his relative, EA Aurora. They share the same sire, and Cygnus's dam is my mare's grand dam! So what percentage are they related...hmmm?

Anne Hornbeak in Folsom, Louisiana brought him from Training Level to Grand Prix.

We who watched him progress remember his "Cyggy Moments" well!

Yes Anne Hornbeak trained Cygnus & got her USDF Gold Medal scores on him. We were absolutely blessed that she let him go to Mimi to start a second chapter in his life. Since then Mimi & Cygnus have trained with Amy Larson & Conrad Schumacher.

Amy Larson is based out of my barn so I 'know' Mimi and Cygnus from afar. It is not easy to pick up the reins from a successful rider and build a partnership of your own....but Mimi has worked her tush off to build that partnership, learn, grow and continue to showcase Cygnus. What a great job they have done together and what a tribute to his previous owner as well. This is a wonderful story!

    "....recreational shying...."

I sure do love me some Arabs....horses, that is.

And Mimi is going to be bored to tears if she ever switches to WBs....

What an inspiring story. Gives me hope for my 13 yo Arabian mare. She is now at a point where I feel "safe" to be working with her again, lol. You just have to love their flashiness and spirit, lol.
