I thought of that as well.

Obviously the guy will not leave the surrounded location without going down in a blaze of "glory" - likely either shooting himself or detonating an explosive to take out others with him.

Apparently the dead brother was a boxer of sorts.... http://johanneshirn.photoshelter.com...00VQW7v6xWA7o/
From some of the comments that go with the pictures, he appears to have been somewhat radicalized.

Well, I didn't even try to go to work today. The MBTA is down, taxis aren't running. The Governor told everyone to stay inside and lock the doors.

Thank God I check the City's mobile site early this am! Saved me the effort of getting ready for work.

It really crazy here. Hard to describe.

Between the carjacking victim, the guy who had to strip naked, and all the people who woke up to SWAT teams in their back yards, the news shows should have no shortage of people to interview.

If MSNBC is correct, the older brother was born in Russia, the younger in Kyrgyzstan.

There is enough going on here its hard to even pay attention to COTH.

Normally, if I didn't go to work, I'd head up to ride, but its too chaotic here. I don't know if I'd be able to get back home later, depending on what happens today.

Some good news on the Twitter feed:

Just spoke to two Transit police officers who told me that their colleague who was shot is "going to live" and is "a good, brave dude."

Nikki, I don't know what line of work you're in, but I'm surprised you chose/were made, to go into work today...

3rd hand quotes from another CNN interview - a friend of the younger brother's - the older brother had taken time off to box- 2 time Golden Globe(Glove?) champion, very talented boxer - others had urged him to try out for the Olympics. The younger had a wrestling scholarship. His friend calls the younger a nice kid, "a walking angel".

I wonder if there's any steroid abuse involved...?

Police also surveying/moving into another "triangular" area of Watertown. Warnings to residents to stay inside. Keep the businesses closed.

I doubt very much she did that. FAR more likely she works the night shift, as do a lot of friends of mine up there (radio DJs & TV peeps mainly) and is stranded. So perhaps some sympathy rather than kvetching at her??? Geeze.
